Hello all,
It's been awhile since I've been on here, as you can tell, and I have been very busy. Right now I am in Minneapolis working on an internship for the summer. I have learned many things already this summer, and its only been two weeks.
Today is Memorial Day. Every time this holiday comes around, I take the time to sit and think about other people's sacrifice for me. Specifically, I think about my Grandfathers. Both were active during WW2, but were not on the front lines like so many young men. For this, I am thankful, but cause if they were, I may not have been here. I always get reminded of this sacrifice when I watch the mini-series Band of Brothers (if you have not seen it, you need to). It is a great series, about 10 hrs in length, and tells the story of the 101st airborne unit. Before I came to Minneapolis for the summer, my roommate and I were watching it and we kept saying, "I am so glad I was not in this." or..."I am so glad we don't have to fight like they did." I think Memorial Day should not only be a day to thank the soldiers that have protected us, but also thank our government for keeping fighting to a minimum and not bringing about other World Wars. So I ask you to say a prayer for our fight soldiers, and thank any vets or government employees for they were/are working for us, for this is their holiday.
